Yipppeeeee, it’s the weekend. *first pump*, *high five*, *chest bump*, etc, etc. To (loosely) paraphrase Cohen/Buckley, Halleh-fuckin‘-lujah; another working week in the books, and another weekend on the horizon, full of freetime and oodles of Gaming goodness. And, given I’ve been promised a few hours off Dog duty this weekend, I might even get to join y’alls too, at least briefly. Huzzah!
So, what are your gaming plans? Are you hitting Tom Clancy’s The Division like nearly everybody else in the Gaming World, or do you have something else in mind for your weekend? Is there something on your To-Play pile that you’ve decided can’t wait any longer? Are you foregoing actual Gaming in favour of some blogging? Are you going to burn the candle at both ends and try for a bit of each? I mean, fuck it, right – you only live once?
Either way, and whatever your plans, why not let us know how your two work-free days are shaping up!? We’re all Gamers here, and we’re a friendly bunch, so if there’s anything you want to talk about, anything you want to ask, anything at all – just go for it. Pretty please!?

As I mentioned, I might actually get to play on a console for a bit this weekend. How long for will be anybody’s guess, and there’s a fair chance a chunk of that time will be taken up by updates and such, but still…. I’ma grasp the opportunity with both hands – even the really chewed-up one. It’s likely I won’t get chance to pick up a copy of The Division though, so that’ll have to wait a bit longer. If you’re already playing it, how is it?? Is it worth my (now more limited) time, or am I getting overly excited about nothing?
Finally, in terms of blogging, I’m still on the look out for great Gaming blogs and sites – both for myself and for the Monday Morning stuff – so if you’ve got any suggestions, I’d love to hear them.
Cheers. And have a great weekend,
James

I think I have ~8 hours into The Division now. It’s a good game. Not a great game. But there is a quality to it that just makes you keep coming back to it. I don’t know how to describe it yet. It merges the compulsive completionist to-do lists of a Ubisoft open world game (lots of missions and side stuff to tick off your list) with the addictive loot cycle of Diablo, and I guess that turns out to be a recipe for something that just gets people hooked.

Wow – that does sound like a potent combination.
This might not end well…… 😉

I have only put in about 2-3 hours into The Division and so far I like it, there are a few UI concerns but overall I am enjoying it. Will definitely have a better idea of the content after some serious playing time this weekend!

Sweet – I look forward to hearing your thoughts, and I hope you have fun with it.
Don’t worry about me either – I’m sure I’ll not be going too crazy watching other people play it! 😉

I’ve hit a string of bad luck this week, so I’m in kind of a rough mood. I’ll probably keep playing The Division and Twilight Princess. I didn’t get to play The Division much this week, so I was afraid I’d fall behind and not find anyone in matchmaking to co-op with, but so far that hasn’t been a problem. I guess there’s still a huge number of people starting the game, so that its not that hard to find anyone to play any mission with.
I’m also working on finishing a post on The Witness which I have a lot of thoughts on. I had started a Just Cause 3 post first, but I decided to set that one aside. I’m afraid I just don’t have as much to say about JC3 other than “it has really pretty explosions,” so I’ll probably just write a smaller post for that one later on.

Ouch – hope the weekend gives you a decent bit of good luck to compensate*. And I very much look forward to reading The Witness thing if you get it finished.
*I can empathise – my much anticipated gaming session today evaporated at pretty much the exact second the dog ran full pelt into a table leg. After an impromptu visit to the vet, I’ll now be trying to immobilise a hyper active puppy, and not, say, making some really pretty explosions, like I’d hoped. Pfff.

I just finished Wolfenstein: The New Order, so kinda in an inbetween of picking a new game. I have been slowly playing though The Witness and have really enjoyed it so far.

How did you find W: TNO? As you know, I was quite the fan, but I think it’s one of those games that some people really like, but others just aren’t that fussed about!?

I’m in the process of writing a review for it, and I think in general I enjoyed the game. I’m not a big fps person, but it does a lot of things right with no glaring holes

I look forward to reading it, and yeah, I think it manages to get a lot of stuff right. For me, I think it walked quite a cool line between old-school FPSing, and modern Gaming – kind of like a stripped down version of truly modern games, but without actually appearing dated, or crappy.
If you get what I mean!?

HOLD THE FRONT PAGE! I have a copy of The Division.
Quite when I’ll get to play it is anybody’s guess, but still…. I have it. It’s in my freakin’ hands.
