It’s the weekend, work can jog the fuck on for two whole days, and our favourite games are ready and waiting to be given the time and attention they deserve. In short, we’re at the bit in the work/play cycle that’s, like, good an’ shit. Trebles all round!
So, what’s your bit of the work/play cycle that’s “good an’ shit” looking like this time? Are you taking the opportunity to start something new, or are you itching to get back to something you’ve already put a lot of time and effort in to. Are you going to go batshit cray-cray and try both – maybe turning it up to 11 and fitting in some writing too!? Are you having something of a breather from gaming and trying out some of that ‘real life’ stuff everybody’s always banging on about? Do you even find yourself at a Gaming loose end, looking for some suggestions as to what to play next?
Whatever’s going on with you, please feel free to let us know in the comments. Ask any questions you might have, touch base with your fellow bloggers, or just generally shoot the shit ’bout anything that’s on your mind. This being the 10th WGD, I really should have bought a cake – or at least some nibbles – but I didn’t, so you’ll just have to make do with the conversation stuff instead!
Anyways, ‘av at it, and make yourself at home. And, as always, have a great weekend guys!

I’m having to do quite a lot of that ‘real-life’ stuff this weekend (boo!), so my Gaming time will probably be limited (hiss!). What time I do have will likely be spent giving the Dark Zone another shot in The Division, which – as some of you will know – hasn’t exactly won me over just yet. I’m aware some of that’s my fault though (I think not going in until I’d finished the main game was a mistake, for example), so I’m trying to keep an open mind.
That said though, I reserve the right to change my mind and give it a wide berth if there’s even a hint of shenanigans this weekend, given I’m still seething after my last foray in there.

Have been co-op-ing a fair chunk of the weirdly addictive Viscera Cleanup Detail so likely a bit more of that. Also picked up a little game called ‘Soviet City’ (currently on early access) which looks like an oppressive version of Sim-city. I’ve yet to really fire it up yet.
Finally I think there are enough computer bits lying around the house to give building a (fairly unimpressive) pc a go and install steam OS on it… Curious to see what it is like…
Have a good weekend all!

Right, so a fairly light and whimsical weekend of gaming for you then!? 😉
I have to admit though, I think the premise of Soviet City is quite intriguing (and relevant?) so I look forward to reading about it if you decide to write something after playing it.

Yeah… It’s all light and easy going stuff… 😮
I will report back on Soviet City once I’ve given it a good run. ☺️

I have some stuff to keep me busy this weekend. Doing family stuff with my wife, but I’m going to try to find time to play some more of Quantum Break and Flame In The Flood. Got some reviews to do! I also have a few article ideas so I might take a crack at those.

I’m really hoping to pick up Quantum Break on the way to or from some of my real life crap this weekend. It was another of the games I was really looking forward to this year, but what with one thing and another, I haven’t had chance to get it yet!

I’m loving it so far. I’d tell you more about it, but I don’t want to ruin anything.

Haha – cheers. I’m currently avoiding reviews and such, but if I can’t get it this weekend, I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to resist!

I had to wait an extra couple days but it was worth it. Safe to say, if you like story-heavy games, you’ll probably like QB.

Yeah, I do. I’m just generally quite intrigued by it – and it’s part of the reason I got the Xbox One in the first place.
So, like, no pressure there Remedy…..

I’d say if you have a chance to rent it, that’d be the safest way to get a feel for it.

I’m not sure I can rent games here, but there’s room in my Gaming budget for it this month (I just read your latest piece about that very thing 😉 ) thanks to me taking last month off from Games.
It’s just a time thing now – both getting chance to pick it up (Sao Paulo traffic means that could take effing days) and finding some quality playing time for it. It’s definitely getting played at some point though!

It isn’t a terribly time-intensive game, unless you have a completionist mentality like me. So you shouldn’t have too much trouble once you get it 🙂

I beat Deus Ex Human Revolution yesterday, so now I need a new title. Recently got the Fire Emblem, so might start that

Was DE: HR good enough for me to move it closer to the top of ‘The Pile’?

I really did enjoy it, although with the DLC, there was some annoying components in the middle of the game, but overall a fun experience. Not too long either

I got into SMITE this week and am playing the hell out of it this weekend. Simple, good fun is what the game is! As long as you have friends to play with to balance out sometimes terrible teammates haha. Has anyone else tried out SMITE yet?

I haven’t tried it yet, but I was just reading something about it this morning, funnily enough!
