Boo – yah! The weekend has arrived and another working week is in the books. Gone. Done. So long, and thanks for all the fish. As it so often does, the weekend probably means quality Gaming time for you, perhaps finished off with the next episode of a certain little TV show that features some dragons and Lord Commanders who couldn’t give a flying fuck about how, like, death works an’ shit. Truly we live in a joyous age. This is our time, fellow nerds. Our time!

Anyways, full-on geek-outs aside, what are your plans for this fine weekend? What Gaming worlds will you be Swan diving into with wanton abandon as you give the real world a majestic middle finger and whisper ‘not today, reality world – not today!‘. What Universe of polygons and pixels are you itching to get back to, or even enter for the first time? Perhaps you’re even looking for suggestions as to what that new world could or should be? If you’re a blogger, mayhap you’re planning on getting some writing done, possibly even after some input from your potential audience?

After a week of not even looking at a console, I’m very much looking forward to getting some quality time with them this weekend. After the initial hugging, and stroking, and apologising for not giving them any attention I’ll probably be firing up either Life is Strange or Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture because a) I’ve been wanting to play them for a while, and b) I could do with a change of pace after all the Dark Zone shenanigans. I might even go a bit batshit crazy and try both. Because that’s how I roll and whatnot.
Hopefully I’ll be in a position to write up something about at least one of them soon(ish), and I’m quite excited to see if they match the (not insignificant) expectations I have for ’em.

I haven’t played Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, but I doubt you could go wrong with Life is Strange.

I’ve done the first episode, and I’m definitely enjoying it so far. It’s got this really unique atmosphere – kind of like a weird, palpable nostalgia vibe – and it’s really sucked me in.

I have social things to do that involve going outside… Ugh.
Besides that, I plan on sending out a mass of emails to publishers to get my name out there. I’m hoping that I can get on a few PR lists for news, and maybe even (hopefully) get a foot in the door for review copies.
Gaming wise, I’m finishing up Deus Ex Human Revolution so I can do my recap of the series so far in preparation for Mankind Divided’s release. I still have the Life Is Strange demo to play… I’m interested to hear what you think. Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture was a neat distraction that I still haven’t finished…

As I just said to Pine717, I’m really, really enjoying Life is Strange so far. It’s quite hard to say why exactly (which bodes well for writing about it, eh!?) but there’s just a great atmosphere and story, and it’s hugely compelling.
Finally, good luck with the Publishers thing. I’ve been meaning to get on that for a while, but to be honest, I’ve chickened out a few times. It is possible to have some success though, if you’re willing to work at it. My man Rich (the guy who wrote the ‘Growing up as Player 2′ piece) did that for a site we both used to write for, and he managed to develop and maintain some useful relationships, although it took a lot of effort and skills with, like, writing words good an’ that!
Again though, good luck with it all.

I will have to go visiting family this weekend, so I’ll have to put Dark Souls on hold. I’ll probably try to finish Day of the Tentacle on Vita. I kind of also want to get into Fire Emblem Fates, but right now, I think it’s probably too big of an investment to start while I’m still in Dark Souls. I might try playing Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse instead, which I just got out of the Nintendo Humble Bundle.
I am almost finished with a post about Star Fox Zero. It is likely the longest post I’ve ever written.
