Most of you know the drill by now. It’s the weekend (not an extra awesome, extended chocolatey weekend, but still…..) and that, my friends, means Games. Lots and lots of games. In these glorious, work-free hours we’re free to enjoy some proper, quality time within whatever Gaming realm’s currently grabbed us by our attention-ey bits and won’t let go.
So, what’s your weekend looking like? Feel free to let us know. Likewise, if you find yourself at a loose end, you can go right ahead and ask for suggestions, second opinions, recommendations. Perhaps you’ve just played a game you think others might like; by all means sing its praises. If you’re a blogger, looking to run some ideas by your potential audience, that’s *totes* cool too. Perhaps you even want to speculate on what Sunday might have in store for a certain crossbow carrying, motorcycle riding badboy with a heart of gold!?
Whatever it is that’s on your mind, this ‘ere space is for you to make use of – if you want to, obviously (it’s not mandatory or anything). Anyways: ask, chat, speculate away fellow Gamers, and have a great weekend!

I’ll be cracking on with The Division *shocked face*. That said though, I think I might’ve peaked with all the lone-wolfey stuff, and I might need to either join some randoms and/or enter the DZ soon. It’s not that I’m bored per se, just that a) I’m getting my ass handed to me more frequently, and b) I think the DZ might mix the experience up a bit.
That said though, if I get murdered, I withhold the right to a) cry, and b) go back to being a bit bored and whatnot!

I spent some quality time in the Division myself the last few days and am actually excited to hit up the DZ soon. I actually looked up a couple of facts about it and it doesn’t seem quite as dangerous since if you kill another agent you become “rogue” and a target is placed on your head for the entire area to see so there certainly is some incentive to play nice which is good.

Yeah, I think they’ve been quite clever in working out how to use (dis)incentives and such, so it’s not as daunting as it could’ve been.
Of course, some dude with some seriously high end gear might not be quite so nice, so there’s always that chance. And, knowing my luck…..

Haha we shall have to see! I have noticed when looking at the dark zone areas that it has level brackets for each area…wondering if that means that only people in that level range can be in that area? not sure…

I noticed that. If I had to guess, I’d say that’s what level the AI is, but that Players/Agents can be any level, anywhere.

Deus Ex Human Revolution again. May try to finally go back and get further in Persona 4. It’s always hard to choose

Yeah, to be honest, I’m quite enjoying not having to make any decisions right now. When I’m done with The Division though, I’m in all kinds of trouble choosing what’s next!

I had been playing The Division and Twilight Princess, but I’ve been busy with work and travelling, and I don’t think I’ve touched them for the past two weeks. I need to get back into those.
I took some time off during the holiday to travel to see family, and I took the Vita along and got started on Day of the Tentacle and played a little Nuclear Throne and Nova-111.
There’s also Hyper Light Drifter which just came out, and I’ve been really excited for it, but I don’t know if I should even look at it, since I’ve still got all these loose ends going on.
I’m hosting a big party Saturday night (something I rarely do), so I won’t get much game time till Sunday……
I’ve honestly idiotically got myself into a situation where I’m overburdened with games right now. This year has been really amazing with new releases so far. I had hoped things would slow down in the spring, but looking over the April and May releases, I don’t think that’s going to be the case. I’m really going to have to sit down and look at everything that’s coming out and make some hard choices about what to prioritize, or otherwise this year might kill me.

I know what you mean, but I think it’s important to make sure games (or the To Play) pile don’t become a burden. When I started this place (around fall/autumn silly season), I figured I’d stand a better chance in Google’s rankings if I reviewed games relatively quickly – but it all got a bit too much quite soon. I’ve since given up on hits/Google’s bastard algorithms and spiders and whatnot, but there are still times when I feel like I really should be playing such-and-such.
However, when that happens, I always try to make a parallel to my books. See, I used to read loads, and my To Read pile is miles bigger than my To Play pile but – and here’s my point – I like to have a big book collection so’s that I’ve always got something I’m in the *mood* to read. As a rule, I try to look at my games in the same way now. They’re there, but they’ll get played at some point (and sure, I’ll also buy more of the damn things), and rather than just playing them because I feel I have to, I’ll hopefully now play each of them when they’re the *right* game – if you see what I mean!? I also tend to have a few books on the go at the same time (for mostly “mood” type reasons too) so I sort of transferred that rationale over to games too.
That’s not to be preachy or anything – just my way of (long-windedly) saying I know what the feeling can be like, but how, when I looked at it in a slightly different way, I began to see my To Play pile as a kind of cool library or resource, rather than something I should feel overwhelmed by. Obviously, it’s still hard to choose what’s getting played next sometimes, but hey, baby steps and all that….. 😉
And I hope the party goes well!

I always like it when I get those sudden urges – and it’s pretty cool to be able to load up something you’re *really* in the mood for!
