No Man’s Sky: Approaching Infinity

I’ve been told (about a billion times) that I’m slightly prone to the odd bit of exaggeration, so when I said that No Man’s Sky was, essentially, an infinite universe, there’s a slight chance that some people might not have taken me entirely seriously. Sean Murray, founder of Hello Games recently backed me up however, by suggesting that No Man’s Sky could take 5 billion years to fully explore. Continue reading “No Man’s Sky: Approaching Infinity”

Fallout 4: Rumours and Guestimations

Given I’ve already gone on record as being “a bit keen” on Fallout, it might not come as a huge surprise that Fallout 4 is one of the games I’m most looking forward to. It’s been six years since Fallout 3 hit the shelves, and four since Fallout: New Vegas debuted, which equates to…(*does “math” face*)….. well, to a lot of long, post-apocalyptic-wasteland-free hours in between. Do Games, and Gamers Deserve More Respect?

Not everyone’s into football/soccer, and that’s fine, but for those of us who are, the World Cup is, undoubtedly, the most highly-anticipated event in the footballing calendar. Every four years, the World’s greatest players gather in the same place, and we get to watch a veritable festival of the beautiful game (plus, sometimes, England games too) played out over four glorious weeks. No Man’s Sky Looks Stunning

One of the things that got me really, really excited at e3 this year was No Man’s Sky. Described as a “Procedurally Generated” world, with every player starting out on their own individual planet in an “infinite” universe, this could genuinely be an awesomely mind-blowing experience. e3 2014: Making the Vita Vital!?

As e3 2014 (or as I like to call it, Christmas in June) rapidly approaches, I would like to share a more general hope of mine: Namely, that the PS Vita gets some proper attention.

I actually got my Vita by accident, but boy did it turn out to be a happy one. To cut a long story short, if you ask for a Playstation 4 as a Christmas present from a family of non-gamers, draw a picture or something, because otherwise they might wander into a game store, ask for a “Playstation thingy” Continue reading “e3 2014: Making the Vita Vital!?”

Project Morpheus at e3 2014?

When I was a kid, I was pretty much promised that by the time I was thirty, I’d be driving a hover car, have a robot butler, and be spending most of my spare time in a virtual reality headset that made the holodeck thing on Star Trek look decidedly primitive in comparison. Obviously, we don’t have hover cars, and I, for one, don’t have a robot butler, but it seems that VR headsets are a distinct near-future possibility, Continue reading “Project Morpheus at e3 2014?”

How to dominate in Call of Duty Ghosts Multiplayer

If, like me, your reactions feel more akin to those of a sloth on a cold Monday morning in January than, say, an elite gamer who spends hours a day submerged in frenetic action, jumping into the online multiplayer version of Ghosts can be quite an intimidating prospect. Indeed, whether you’re an FPS newbie, or an experienced player, starting from scratch on any new game can be a bewildering, and at times extremely frustrating experience, and there is, by almost any conceivable standard, a pretty steep learning curve Continue reading “How to dominate in Call of Duty Ghosts Multiplayer”
