Weekend Gaming Doodah #6

We’re there, finally: The weekend! Huzzah, and thank fuck for that because this week was brutal, and it just felt like I was getting pummelled by an End of Level Boss over and over and over again. In real life there’s no cheat codes either, but I’ve ridden it out and have been rewarded with a Weekend Power-Up for my troubles. Unfortunately, this weekend won’t feature much game-playing time for me, but hopefully you guys will have more luck. Continue reading “Weekend Gaming Doodah #6”

What Makes a Game a Game?

No, wait… Come back…. I haven’t totally lost the plot. Whilst I’d be the first to admit that I’m currently exhausted, befuddled and just generally massively fucking discombobulated thanks to my new status as a Puppy(/limitless ball of destructive energy) owner – the answer to that question isn’t necessarily as obvious as it might appear. Or, more accurately, perhaps the answer’s slightly more subtle than a simple ‘something you play, you big, daft bastard!’ or whatever it was you responded to my question with! LEGO Jurassic World (PS Vita) – Review

As a general rule, the Lego games seem to divide the Gaming community, and whilst there are plenty of us who find them fun, entertaining and eminently payable, there are many others who feel they’re childish, facile, and that they’re perhaps not even “proper” games. I’m in the former camp, but even so, I can see why other people aren’t overly fussed by them (I wasn’t until I played one that came free on PS+) – although I’m not at all convinced by the ‘not proper games’ thing. Sure, they’re not as challenging as, say, a Bloodborne, and they’re not as intense as an FPS, but they’re usually very well-made, hugely addictive and – more often than not – genuinely quite humorous (there was one recurring joke in the last Batman game that cracked me up every time I heard it). Monday Morning Procrastination Pack #5

You all know the drill by now: Monday’s both suck and blow, and the weekend went waaaay too damn quick. All that potential, promise and freetime just fucked the fuck off faster than a Coulrophobe at a clown convention, and all we’re left with is that Monday Morning feeling.

As per usual though, I’ve taken the liberty of collating a few pieces from the t’internet that I hope might make Monday feel a bit less grim; a bit of verbular padding to stuff down your pants to soften the blow of the big old crotch punch that is the start of the working week. Continue reading “Monday Morning Procrastination Pack #5”

Weekend Gaming Doodah #5

THE WEEKEND! It’s here. Finally. I don’t know about you guys, but this week just seemed to last forever. Like a NeverEnding Story, but without all the fun and the big dragon-ey dog thing. Anyway, it’s over now, and the weekend beckons, and for most of us the weekend means game-y time. Lots and lots of Game-y time. Probably not for me this weekend, but hey, don’t let that bother you. I’ll survive. Continue reading “Weekend Gaming Doodah #5”

Resident Evil – Let’s Remaster Every Damn Thing!

Everybody’s had their say on Capcom’s latest announcement, so I figured I’d join in with the party – even though I wasn’t actually invited and – as a rule – I’m never invited to parties because of the Pot Noodle incident back in 2006.

Anyways, ICYMI Capcom have announced that they’ll be remastering Resident Evils 4 through 6 for Next-Gen gaming, except they’ll be sticking a middle-finger up at the commonly accepted rules of counting and, like, how numbers work, by going backwards (i.e. 6 first, then 5, then 4). Continue reading “Resident Evil – Let’s Remaster Every Damn Thing!”

Uncharted 4 Release Delayed. Again.

In today’s edition of ‘Colour me disappointed but not that surprised’ we have the news that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is to be launched two weeks after the most recently proposed launch date. Which itself was a few weeks after the launch date set before that. Which was….. anyways, you get the picture: Uncharted 4 – delayed again. Continue reading “Uncharted 4 Release Delayed. Again.”
